Baked Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 4-6 boneless pork chops
  • 1 Tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 Tablespoon flour
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • 3/4 cup wine or broth

Directions:

Heat oven to 350.

Brown chops on both sides, and then remove to a baking dish.  Saute the onions and mushrooms in the drippings remaining in the skillet.  Once softened, sprinkle the flour, salt and pepper over the mixture and stir until the flour begins to cook.  Add the wine/broth, stirring until the mixture thickens and bubbles.  Pour over the chops, and cover the baking dish.  Bake for 45-60 minutes, until tender.

Serve with egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice.

Makes 4-6 servings.
